About the Courses


The International Centre for English Language Studies (ICELS) courses are designed by qualified academic staff – specialists in English for Academic Purposes – who have trained, taught and researched overseas. Our courses are validated by Oxford Brookes University and accredited by the British Council.

• Certificate in English Language Studies (CELS): You will improve your English for academic study and learn about life in Britain and the rest of Europe.

• English for University Studies (EUS): You want to develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for academic purposes.

• International Foundation Diploma (IFD)/Foundation Diploma in Liberal Arts (FDLA): You want to prepare for undergraduate degrees in business, computing, humanities, hospitality and tourism, law, politics, social sciences or education. You will gain knowledge of the subjects and improve your academic English and study skills.

• Graduate Preparation Diploma/Certificate (GPDip/GPCert): You want to develop English language, research and study skills for postgraduate study improve your knowledge of your future subjects.

• International Summer School: You want to improve your English for study or work purposes and enjoy a lively social programme over the summer period.

Located on the main campus, close to Oxford’s city centre, you can enjoy all the available facilities and feel part of the vibrant student community.


About the University

Student accommodation The university has nine halls of residence each with a team of hall wardens and assistants to help you settle in and deal with any problems that may arise. As an international student you will be guaranteed a room in university accommodation provided you meet the application deadline.

English for University Studies:

Foundation
• High School Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum of IELTS 5.0 (with 5.0 in all skills)

Graduate Preparation Diploma/Certificate
• Honours degree or equivalent
• IELTS 5.5 (5.0 minimum in reading and writing) /TOEFL 525(193) or equivalent

Summer School:
