TAUGHT PROGRAMME
MSc in Instrumental & Analytical Methods in Biological & Environmental Chemistry
Objectives
To provide advanced training in a wide range of analytical and modern instrumental methods to enable graduates to pursue careers in analytical laboratories. The programme is particularly suited for training analysts to solve problems in pharmaceutical related disciplines and also in environmental chemistry.
Programme
The MSc programme involves nine assessed coursework modules over six months for full-time students, followed by a five month analytical research project. A Diploma in Instrumental & Analytical Methods requires satisfactory completion of the taught modules.

About the University
The University of Warwick is a campus university with all academic and social/residential facilities located on a single site near Coventry. Communications are excellent with London 1.5 hours by train and Birmingham International Airport a 30 minute taxi ride. There are 4000 residential places on campus.
About the Department
The Department of Chemistry is housed in purpose-built research laboratories currently undergoing a £2 million refurbishment. It is well-equipped with excellent facilities for research in analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical and theoretical chemistry. Interdisciplinary and collaborative research programmes are carried out and generous financial support is received from the Research Councils. There are approximately 123 research workers in the Department, including visitors both from the UK and overseas.
Research facilities include 250, 300 and 400 Mhz FT NMR spectrometers and an area X-ray diffractometer.
